Dr. rer. nat. Wolfgang Böhme
Profile:
Dr. rer. nat. Wolfgang Böhme, born in 1951,
studied physics at the University of Karlsruhe/Germany
and obtained his degree in 1977. He has
been a scientific employee at the Fraunhofer Institute
for Material Mechanics (IWM) in Freiburg/Germany
since 1978. He obtained his doctorate at TU
Darmstadt in 1985. As the team leader for ”crash
dynamics” at Fraunhofer IWM, he is responsible
for investigations into the material and component
behaviour at high loading rates for crash safety
assessments and fracture-dynamic questions in
the field of installation safety. He collaborates in
various bodies of ISO, DIN and VDEh for the elaboration
of guidelines for material characterisation
with impact-like and crash-like loading.
