Dr.-Ing. Dieter Memhard

Dr.-Ing. Dieter Memhard, born in 1951, studied materials engineering at RWTH Aachen and obtained his degree in 1982. He was a scientific employee at the Institute for Ferrous Metallurgy until 1987 and obtained his doctorate in 1989. He has been a scientific employee at Fraunhofer IWM since 1987. His research focuses on fracture and damage mechanics as well as on the application of numerical methods for component and crash safety.
