Dr.-Ing. Simon Jahn
Dr.-Ing. Simon Jahn, born in 1977, studied mechanical engineering with a focus on production technology and was initially employed as a research assistant and later as group leader for precision machining and senior engineer in the Department of Manufacturing Technology at the Technical University of Ilmenau. He received his doctorate with distinction in the field of manufacturing technology in 2007. For the last two and a half years before moving to the Günter Köhler Institute for Joining Technology and Materials Testing GmbH (ifw Jena), he held the position of chief engineer in the Department of Joining and Coating Technology at the Technical University of Berlin. Since the end of 2010, Dr.-Ing. Simon Jahn has been head of ifw Jena, initially as head of the joining technology department and, since 2015, as managing director.
