Dipl.-Chem. Elisabeth Stammen studied chemistry at RWTH Aachen University from 1987 to 1994, specialising in macromolecular and technical chemistry. Since 2002, she has been a research assistant at the Institute of Joining and Welding Technology at TU Braunschweig, where she has headed the Aachen branch since 2005. In spring 2014, she took over as head of department in the field of adhesive bonding technology. Her research interests include, among others, the formulation of special adhesive solutions for niche applications and, in particular, the investigation of ageing behaviour under realistic conditions. The field of application is broad and ranges from paper and textile technology to applications in automotive and rail vehicle construction.
